Frequently asked questions.
TE Prospecting & Exploration is a small, independent, one-person operation based in British Columbia. With years of hands-on experience hunting for gemstones, crystals, gold, silver, and rare earth minerals, we focus on authentic, outdoor, nature-based prospecting and exploration.
1. What is TE Prospecting & Exploration?
Prospecting for gemstones, crystals, gold, and rare minerals
Lapidary work, including cutting and shaping rare stones
Custom jewelry made from ethically sourced natural finds
Handmade stone items such as bookends, sinks, and unique décor pieces
Sales at rock shows and events across BC
2. What services do you currently provide?
3. How much does your lapidary and cutting work cost?
Lapidary services range from $50 to $150 per hour, depending on:
Size of the stone
Difficulty of the cut
Material hardness
Level of detail required
Please note: We are limited to certain sizes due to the tools we currently have.
At this time, TE Prospecting & Exploration is a one-person operation or some times two. Every find, every cut, every piece of jewelry is done by hand — independently and with care.
4. Do you work alone, or do you have a team?
5. Are you accepting investors?
Yes. As a growing small business, we are currently seeking investors who believe in natural exploration, handcrafted work, and the long-term potential of small-scale mineral discovery and education.
We primarily operate in British Columbia, focusing on natural areas rich in mineral and gem potential.
6. What areas do you operate in?
Because we are small, everything we offer is:
Hand-collected in nature
Ethically sourced
Cut and shaped by hand
One-of-a-kind
Rooted in real outdoor experience
No mass production — just genuine work backed by passion and field knowledge.
7. What makes your work unique?
Yes! Our long-term goals include:
Growing into a larger exploration operation
Offering outdoor survival courses
Publishing books and online guides
Increasing our mining and exploration capabilities
Building a stronger presence in BC’s outdoor and mineral-exploration community
8. Do you plan to expand in the future?
